Tourists safe

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, DEC. 28. The tourists in Kerala are perfectly safe and there is no damage to any tourism centre.

The Tourism Minister, K.C. Venugopal, who announced this here today said that more life guards had been deployed on the beaches of Kovalam, Alappuzha, Kozhikode and Kochi. These details have been conveyed to all international tour operators connected with Kerala and the tourism offices of the Union Government in other countries.

A round-the-clock control room for providing tourism-related information started functioning in the Tourism Directorate. The telephone numbers are 0471-2322547 and 094471-23700.
