Railway union chips in with aid

CHENNAI,
DEC. 28.
The Southern Railway Mazdoor Union today distributed food pockets, clothes and medicines to tsunami-affected people at Ayodhya Kuppam, Royapuram, Besant Nagar, Santhome and Foreshore Estate in the city.
The union general secretary, N. Kanniah, directed union office-bearers in Cuddalore, Pondicherry, Nagapattinam and Kanyakumari districts to provide relief to the affected people.
He appealed to Railways personnel to donate liberally to the relief fund and also give used clothes, medicines, utensils, and building materials to the union's central office in Egmore.
