By V.S. Sambandan

COLOMBO, DEC. 28. At least 72 foreign tourists, seven of them Indians, were killed in Sunday's tsunami attack in Sri Lanka, according to official figures. In addition, one Indian was killed in the Maldives.

Foreign tourists who had their Christmas/New Year vacations shattered by Sunday's unceasing waves, have been given temporary accommodation at convention centres, stadia and hotels in the capital.

The Indian High Commission in Colombo has established a 24-hour help desk to provide information on Indian nationals. The help desk can be reached on the following numbers: 0094112422788, 0094112327587 and 0094722234183.
