HYDERABAD, DEC. 28. The petition seeking temporary adjournment of trial of Balakrishna's case for collection of further evidence, filed by the police, was dismissed by the Nampally Metropolitan Sessions Court here on Tuesday. The Judge, K. Raja Gopala Reddy, however, accepted the request of the police to recall three important witnesses -- B. Suresh, Satyanarayana Choudhary, who sustained bullet wounds in the shooting incident and made a volte-face in the court, and a security guard, K. Rajeshwar Rao. The petition seeking adjournment of the trial was filed by the police in the backdrop of the statement made by Suresh and Choudhary in the court that some unidentified fans of the actor grabbed the revolver in the actor's house and fired at them. Police maintained that they would further investigate the new angle of fans opening fire at the victims. The second petition was submitted in the light of the turnabout made by the witnesses. The prosecution stated that it would re-examine their statements, as they contradicted the ones made before the police. The case was posted to January 5, 2005, for further hearing.
