Six hurt as LPG cylinder explodes
By Our Staff Reporter
HYDERABAD,
DEC. 28.
Six persons were injured, three of them seriously, when a Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) cylinder exploded on the first floor of a house in Satyanagar under the Lalaguda police station area on Tuesday night.
The condition of a housewife, Rajeshwari, her neighbour, K. Krishnamoorthy, and his eight-year-old daughter, Kavya, who suffered more than 50 per cent burns, was serious, the Gopalapuram ACP, Mohd. Tajuddin, said quoting doctors of Gandhi Hospital.
Krishnamoorthy's wife, Kiranmai, another woman, Vijaya and a 18-month-old baby girl too sustained burns, but were safe. Ms. Rajeswari grew suspicious that the cylinder was leaking and sought help from Krishnamoorthy. Even as the latter entered her house, suddenly fire broke out and his clothes caught fire. While he ran out, the cylinder exploded.
