NEW DELHI, DEC. 28. Two young men have been arrested by the East Delhi police for allegedly snatching the mobile phone of a man at Vivek Vihar in East Delhi on Monday. Three snatched mobile phones have been recovered from them. According to the police, Jagdish Raj Mehta, a resident of Vivek Vihar, was going somewhere when two young men, riding a motorcycle, snatched his mobile phone near Arya Samaj Mandir around 6-30 p.m. He raised an alarm which alerted the Sub-Inspector Atul Tyagi of Vivek Vihar who was patrolling there. He chased the motorcycle-borne young men and intercepted them at some distance. Apart from Mr. Mehta's mobile phone, two more stolen mobile phones were recovered from the duo. They have been identified as Nitin, a resident of Anand Vihar, and his cousin Karan, a resident of Jhilmil Colony. During interrogation, the accused told the police that they began snatching mobile phones to make quick money as they needed more pocket money.
Businessman traced
A businessman who was feared to have been kidnapped was traced to Mumbai with over Rs one lakh he had taken with him, police said today. Manoj Seth had left his house in Shahdara in east Delhi on December 23 for office with Rs 1.5 lakh but had been untraceable ever since. Fearing that he had been kidnapped, his father had lodged a case. Police teams were fanned out in neighbouring districts of Uttar Pradesh and his car was found in an intact condition in Agra on Sunday. Last afternoon, his mobile phone was traced to Mumbai and his relatives asked to contact him. Seth was later brought back to Delhi.
