Attack on woman, culprit identified

By Our Staff Reporter

NEW DELHI, DEC. 28. The police claim to have identified the person who allegedly masterminded the attack on a 40-year-old woman at Rohini in North-West Delhi on Monday. While raids are being mounted to arrest him, the victim, who suffered a gunshot injury in the back, is still stated to be in a critical condition.

Geeta Talwar was shot at by some carborne assailants when she was buying vegetables at a Mother Dairy outlet on Monday afternoon. She has been admitted to Maharaja Agarsen Hospital. Enquires revealed that Geeta was married to Amarjeet Talwar but she was not in talking terms with him for the past 10 years. According to the police, she had been living with someone else.

During investigations, the police have come to know that the attack on Geeta had been carried out allegedly at the instance of a person who was earlier involved with her. Subsequently, they have launched a hunt for him and have reportedly identified his hideout.
