Letters to the Editor
Sir, I was in Kanyakumari with my parents on December 26. While shopping near the beach, we heard people shouting and running. Even as I ran instinctively, I glanced behind me to see a monstrous wave approaching ... a huge blue wall. It was not the sea I had seen a few minutes ago. We ran knowing our lives lay in our legs. I saw a woman falling, a child wailing but I did not stop. I do not know if it is cruel to feel relieved and happy on being alive. I only know that the sea will never be the same again for me. I will forever remember how dangerous the sea can be and how helpless human beings can be.
Athira Krishna Kumar,
