DHARWAD, DEC. 29. Police arrested four persons today, who were waiting at Belavatagi cross near the bridge across Bennehalla in Navalgund taluk of Dharwad district, allegedly with the intention of committing dacoity, and recovered lethal weapons from them. Two other members of the gang managed to escape. The names of the arrested have been given as Gurunathgowda Ningangowdar, Chandrasekhar Basalingappa Uppin, Basappa Mallappa Shiraguppi and Shivanand Basetteppa Gujjannavar, all from Morab village of Navalgund taluk. The police recovered from them five swords, one country-made pistol and 12 live cartridges.
