Sethuraman, Ramyakrishna triumph

VIJAYAWADA, DEC. 29. S.P. Sethuraman of Tamil Nadu and I. Ramyakrishna of Andhra Pradesh emerged champions in the boys' and girls' sections respectively in the National under-13 chess championship at DRR Indoor Stadium here today.

Sethuraman outwitted S. Raviteja in the final round game to clinch the issue with 8.5 points while Ramyakrishna got the better of Padmini Rout of Orissa to leave the others way behind. The winner was richer by Rs.7200 and the L & T Trophy.

Bhakti Kulkarni of Goa and P. Lakshmi Sahiti (AP) were tied with seven points each. But, by virtue of better progressive score, Kulkarni was placed second and Lakshmi third.
