MAHABUBNAGAR, DEC. 29. Five persons were injured at Amarchinta village of Atmakoor mandal when activists of the BJP and the CPI(M) clashed on Tuesday. The three BJP workers who received serious injuries were shifted to Kurnool Government Hospital. Police fired five rounds in the air when the situation went beyond control. According to the villagers, BJP and RSS activists perform bhajans every Tuesday in one of the temples in the village keeping `Bharat mata ` photo by the side of principal deity. According to the police, some of the CPI(M) activists criticised the BJP workers for performing such bhajans, which resulted in enmity between them. In retaliation BJP workers attacked the house of a CPI(M) worker and the office of an outfit of the CPI(M). The CPI(M) activists attacked the houses of BJP workers.
