BANGALORE, DEC. 29. With the confirmation of the death of four more tourists in tsunami-affected areas, the number of people from Karnataka who perished in the disaster on Sunday increased to 53 on Wednesday. Over 90 persons are still reported missing. The bodies of Elizabeth (56), wife of Ambu of Magadi Road, and Karthik (17) of the same locality, were brought here and buried on Wednesday. They died in Velankanni in Tamil Nadu. The body of Ramakrishna R. (35), a relative of Kannada thespian Rajkumar, was brought to his house in Yelahanka. The body of Senthilkumar of Banashankari was buried in Velankanni. The State Government has announced a contribution of Rs. 15 crores to the Prime Minister's Relief Fund for relief work in the tsunami-hit areas. The Chief Minister, N. Dharam Singh, who visited coastal areas in the State on Tuesday, told presspersons here on Wednesday that the State Government employees have agreed to donate a day's salary to tsunami relief work while Ministers and several legislators have committed a month's salary.
