PATHANAMTHITTA, DEC 29. Supporters of the CPI(M) Polit Bureau member, V.S. Achuthanandan, have strengthened their hold over the party district unit here by ensuring the victory of all the faction's nominees to the 32-member district committee in the elections held in Kozhencherry on Tuesday. Besides the election of all 20 nominees in the official panel, the Achuthanandan faction managed to ensure the victory of three more supporters when 18 more contested on their own in the elections to the party district committee. Meanwhile, the faction has reportedly given the green signal to its supporters to vote for Raju Abraham, MLA, K.M. Gopi, V.K. Purushothaman Pillai, P.K. Kumaran and A.J. Ajayakumar, as optional, in the event of an election. In the election of 25 delegates from the district for the party State meet, the Achuthanandan faction succeeded in getting all its 20 nominees elected. Prominent among the losers include the former MLA A. Padmakumar and the former DYFI district leaders K. Prakash Babu and R. Shaji Mohan.

Haridas, Abraham Mannaickal, K.Thulaseedharan, all belonging to the Achuthanandan faction, V.R. Sivarajan, Omalloor Sankaran, M.S. Bhasi, Raju Abraham, MLA, V.K. Purushothaman Pillai, P.J. Ajayakumar, K.M. Gopi, P.K .Kumaran and C.K. Mohanan Nair.
