NELLORE, DEC. 29. Though four days have passed since the tidal wave battered Mypadu, 21 km from here, affected people are yet to receive tangible relief.

Several VIPs have visited the village till date but it has not made any difference on the relief front.

Leaders vied with one another to visit the area on the first day itself. They included S. Chandramohan Reddy (TDP), former Minister, P. Chenchal Babu (Congress), ZP Chairman, and D. Radhakrishna Reddy of the BJP.

On Monday it was the turn of the Chief Minister, Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, the Union Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare, P. Lakshmi, the State Minister for Primary Education, N. Rajyalakshmi, and the Pradesh Congress Committee president, K. Keshava Rao.

On Tuesday, the TDP president, N. Chandrababu Naidu, along with party colleagues Ummareddy Venkateswarlu, K. Vidyadhara Rao and N. Rajakumari, visited the village.

On Wednesday, it was the turn of the BJP leaders L.K. Advani, M. Venkaiah Naidu, B. Dattatreya and N. Indrasena Reddy to visit the affected persons.

A number of officials, including the Rural Development Commissioner, K. Raju, and the Family Welfare Commissioner, C.B.S. Venkataramana, too are going round affected areas. These visits are hampering relief work at various levels in the district.
