TIRUPATI. Dec. 29. The State president of the Republican Party of India (RPI), Bojja Tarakam, has given a call to the weaker sections to be ready for a fight to finish to secure reservation for them in the private sector as well. Addressing a meeting here today in this connection in the Ambedkar Bhavan, he welcomed the decision taken by the Maharastra Government in this connection under the leadership of its then Chief Minister, Susilkumar Shinde. He regretted that the political parties heading successive governments were pampering the World Bank, MNCs and big industrial houses by allotting them huge chunks of government lands for a song while dragging their feet when it came to distribution of the waste lands to the landless poor. He branded TTD as adopting anti-dalit stance and cited not only the instances of its violation of the rule of reservation but also its insistance even on the SC/ST students to cough-up caution deposits studying in its colleges which eventually either caused financial burden on them or forcing them to drop-out. District RPI leader, Anjaiah referred to the government programme scheduled for January next to distribute one lakh acres to the poor in the state and wanted the government to issue pattas to the 20,000 acres which are being tilled by the dalits in Chittoor district for the last 20 years without the pattas. He said the organisation was ready to provide to the district administration the details like the survey number etc atleast in respect of half of the 20,000 acres and wanted it to take necessary steps for the distribution of the pattas. eom
