No sweat for Vijay Kannan
CHENNAI,
DEC. 29.
Former National hard-court champion and Afro-Asian Games gold medallist Vijay Kannan defeated P. Ravi Shankar 6-4, 6-2 in the semifinals of the Krishnan Tennis Centre invitational tournament at the Centre premises, Kottivakkam, here on Wednesday.
In the other semifinal, 16-year-old Jeevan Nedunchezian defeated Vijay Sundar Prasanth 7-5, 6-3.

Semifinals: Vijay Kannan bt P. Ravi Shankar 6-4, 6-2; Jeevan Nedunchezian bt Vijay Sundar Prasanth 7-5, 6-3.
Quarterfinals: Vijay Sundar Prasanth bt Vinod Sridhar 4-3 (conceded); Jeevan Nedunchezian bt Kamala Kannan 6-3, 7-6 (7-3); P. Ravi Shankar w/o V.M. Ranjeet; Vijay Kannan bt Ajai Selvaraj 6-4, 6-2.
