Double delight for Sania

By Our Sports Reporter

HYDERABAD, DEC. 29. It was a `double delight' for Sania Mirza. First, she got the wild card entry for the next month's prestigious, Australian Open championship and then the chairman of GVK Group of Industries, G.V. Krishna Reddy, formally declared at a function this evening that Sania will be the brand ambassador of the Taj GVK Hotels and Resorts.

Mr. Reddy informed that the having sponsored the young Hyderabadi when no one else had spotted the talent, the group had great confidence in the ability of Sania Mirza.

"Since we have felt that she needs complete support over the next few months in the tough women's circuit of WTA Tour, we have decided to give an assuring touch of confidence," Mr. Reddy explained.

He also pointed out that Sania would be on tour till April and till then the GVK Group would take care of the complete expenditure. "This is just the beginning," he stressed.

Mr. Reddy also made it clear that by making Sania the brand ambassador of the GVK Taj Hotels, they would not be putting any bar on any other prospective sponsors. "We welcome any support to her but she will be the exclusive brand ambassador of our Group," he said.

Replying to the gesture of GVK Group, Sania remarked that she would not be found wanting in living up to the expectations and is dreaming of returning to hometown with a Grand Slam trophy given the encouragement and moral support Mr. Reddy had been extending over the last seven years.

The Chief Minister Y.S.
