BANGALORE, DEC. 29. Spinner Vinoo Prasad (five for 57) and mediumpacer Steve Lazarus (three for 66) combined to give President's XI a 71 runs first innings lead in the S.A. Srinivasan Memorial trophy under-22 cricket tournament at RWF grounds here on Wednesday. The lead ensured Presidents XI garnered five points to Bangalore Zone's two. Bangalore Zone was dismissed for 284 in 55.3 overs in reply to Presidents XI first innings score of 355. In the second knock Presidents XI made 141 for one in 28 overs. In the other match, Shimoga, overnight 66 for one, went on to compile 442 in 88.3 overs with M.K. Sagar making 107, in reply to Tumkur's score of 277. Tumkur were 60 for two in eight overs in the second innings.
Tumkur Zone 277 and 60 for two in eight overs (Deepak Patel n.o 43) drew Shimoga Zone 442 in 88.3 overs (M. Nidish 80, Sunil Holla 65, C.R. Sachin 78, M.K. Sagar 107, Tousif Nayeem 50; Veeresh Kumar four for 135).
