Partly cloudy

CHENNAI, DEC. 29. On Thursday, the sky will be partly cloudy and the minimum temperature will be around 23 degree Celsius. On Wednesday, Nungambakkam registered a maximum of 30.1 degrees and a minimum of 24 degree Celsius. Meenambakkam recorded a maximum of 30.3 degrees and a minimum of 23 degree Celsius. The humidity was 68 per cent and 70 per cent respectively.

Centenary celebration

Alladi Centenary Foundation and Asrama are celebrating a centenary of special relativity at Ekamra Nivas, 62, Luz Church Road, Mylapore. Professor Krishnaswamy Alladi, chairman of Department of Mathematics, University of Florida, will speak on `Mathematics as a lifetime passion' at 3.30 p.m. A book containing articles of Prof. A Ramakrishna, will also be released.

Annual session

The Diamond Jubilee Annual Session of the Tamil Chamber of Commerce was held on Tuesday. Justice S. Jagadeesan presided the occasion. Awards for the best designer and weaver of sarees for 2004 and the best student in commerce studies were presented.
