HYDERABAD, DEC. 29. The Gandhi Medical College (GMC) Alumni Association, as part of the golden jubilee celebrations of the college, will organise a three-day international continuing medical education (CME) programme at GMC from Thursday. The CME, slated to be inaugurated by the Chief Minister, Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, at 9.30 a.m., will have around 400 alumni, from India and abroad, apart from the existing faculty and students as participants. Addressing a press conference here, the Alumni Association president, Raja Reddy, said the CME, sponsored and accredited by the Henry Ford Health System, would deliberate on a range of contemporary issues in clinical practice. Experts and college alumni from the US, UK, UAE and India would be the moderators and speakers. Dr. Reddy himself will be presenting an audio-visual session on `The history of GMC and Gandhi Hospital' after the inaugural session.
Fete to end on Jan. 1
The celebrations would end on January 1, three-and-a-half months after the former Governor, Surjeet Singh Barnala, had inaugurated them. The GMC Principal, G. Kishore Roy, the Alumni Association and Golden Jubilee celebrations organising secretary, Ch. Chandra Shekhar, and the Ad Hoc Committee (USA) chairman, Sudhaker Rao, spoke.
