THE REAL estate scene is booming with demand still ahead of supply and an MBA programme in real-estate management is to be offered by the Institute of Finance and International Management here. The business school has tied up with the CASS Graduate School of International Management in Belgium to offer this course. The MBA course will prepare students for careers in real estate, property management and services management. Those completing the course can get positions in areas such as consultancy, property, research and public services or go in for an academic career, says the institute. Graduates in any stream can enrol and the course will be offered part-time over 15 months. After completing it, the students get a Master's degree from two State universities in France: the University of Poitiers and the University of Pau.

Meeting this need is Alliance Business Academy (ph: 26684369), which is offering a management development programme in management of non-profit organisations on its campus on Thursday. The seminar will explore ways in which non-profit organisations can go about redefining their mission statements, setting goals and objectives and achieving them. The course director will be Madhukar Angur of the University of Michigan and Associate Director, G.R. Narayanan, of Alliance Business Academy.
Unmad
THE INDIAN Institute of Management, Bangalore (IIM-B), is at it again. Its inter-college cultural fest, Unmad 2005, is to be held from January 28 with one pre-fest event, the Jagjit Singh Night, on January 22. IIM-B is reaching out across frontiers this time, inviting five colleges from Pakistan to participate in the cultural events. The event is expected to have a footfall of 30,000 from 250 participating colleges. Two music groups, Strings from Pakistan and Ocean, Indian, will perform together in the India-Pakistan Unity Concert at Unmad 2005. The highlight will be Kriti, a unique design-your-own Unmad contest. All that the contesting students have to do is to conceptualise and plan an event that will be conducted at Unmad. Give an idea and we will execute it, say the students at IIM-B. Meanwhile, the online events have already started at www.unmad.com This will allow participants from across the country to customise their online Unmad experience. With over 10 forums from topics related to everything from music to art to CAT preparation, it will allow people to exchange ideas, discuss issues and network on a large scale.
