Erode
By Our Staff Reporter
ERODE, DEC.30. The Collector, D. Karthikeyan, has said that the administration had been receiving complaints that some unauthorised people had been involved in collecting funds illegally for the tsunami victims. He once again reiterated that only after getting approval from the administration any organisations should collect the fund and proper accounts should be maintained. The Collector pointed out that a few people were also found to be entering government offices with unsealed `hundies.' Mr. Karthikeyan said that private individuals, organisations and others may send the relief fund or other donations to the Collectorate from December 31 and appealed to the public to come forward to donate clothes, rice and medicines. Cash, demand draft or cheque may be given to the Chief Minister's Public Relief Fund. Meanwhile, condoling the deaths, meetings were held at various places.
