Prajisha rewrites javelin record
VIJAYAWADA,
DEC. 30.
Favourite Mahatma Gandhi University, Kerala dominated the proceedings with its athletes winning three golds, including a record-breaking effort by M.K. Prajisha in javelin throw for women in the 65th All-India inter-varsity athletics meet at the Nagarjuna university, near here, today.
Chenganacherry Assumption College student Prajisha, improved over her earlier best of 47.29m, a meet record during 2002-03, by hurling the javelin to a distance of 49.41m.
Mahatma Gandhi University scored a double in the hurdles, winning gold both in the men's and women's sections through Bibin Joseph (14.75 sec) and A.K. Saranya (14.59 sec). UNI
