This Day That Age
The Government of Prime Minister Mendes-France won its vote of confidence in the French National Assembly on December 30 on German rearmament. Voting was 287 in favour and 260 against. The vote on which M. Mendes-France had staked the life of his six-month-old Government approved Germany's entry into the Western European Union with an army of twelve divisions and small sea and air force.
