Ashok Leyland's gesture

CHENNAI: The buildings and premises of Ashok Leyland's Ennore unit and its associate company, Ennore Foundries, have been spared the fury of the tsunami that struck the Chennai coast on December 26. At both the places normal operations have been resumed. On Sunday, the residents of the badly affected neighbourhoods took shelter in the Ennore unit. Over a 100 employees were involved in relief operations, says a release. At its associate company, Lanka Ashok Leyland, there was no damage of property, the release adds.
