Reejo upsets Sarat

KOCHI, DEC. 30. Thiruvalla's Reejo V. John beat top-seeded Sarat Lal of Thiruvananthapuram 9-4 and marched into the under-16 boys final of the Bharat Petroleum Sree Chitra Kerala State ranking tennis tournament at the Regional Sports Centre courts here on Thursday.

The results (semifinals): Under-12: Jaisal Kohli (Ekm) bt Jacob Jeeson (Ekm) 8-3; H. Suraj (Tvm) bt Aditya Bhat (Ekm) 8-7 (11-9).

Under-16: Reejo V.John (Tiruvalla) bt Sarat Lal (Tvm) 9-4; Athul Roy (Ekm) bt M. R. Rajendran (Tvm) 9-1.

Boys, under-18: V.S.Visakh (Tvm) bt S.L.Arun (Tvm) 7-6 (7-2), 6-2; Sekhar Satish (Tvm) bt A.Anand (Tvm) 0-6, 6-3, 6-2.
