LAHORE, DEC. 30 . Irfan Pathan and Shoaib Akhtar could soon be sharing the new ball and Sourav Ganguly could be instructing Sanath Jayasuriya on the field if the Sri Lankan and Indian cricket boards accept a PCB proposal to organise a one-day match, the proceeds of which will go to the victims of the December 26 earthquake and tsunami disaster. The PCB is negotiating with its Lankan and Indian counterparts to organise either a one-day match between an Asian XI and a Combined XI comprising players from Asia or to have a match between Pakistan and India or one between Sri Lanka and an India-Pakistan combine, according to Shaharyar Khan, the board chairman. ``We have sent out the letters and have also informed the ICC of our plans. I spoke to the ICC President Ehsan Mani and he said the ICC was also considering organising a World XI vs. Asian XI match for the victims of the disaster,'' PCB Chairman Shaharyar Khan was quoted as saying by the News Today.
Mr. Khan said the charity match would be organised very soon when all three teams were free from their international commitments. UNI
