An unbeaten 126 by Pooja and a useful 60 by Bhawana helped Punjab University posted a 285-run victory over North Maharashtra, Jaigon in the all-India inter-university women's cricket tournament here on Thursday. Anumika's five for 13 helped Ch. Devilal University, Sisra defeat Jiwaji University, Gwalior by nine wickets.
Punjab 335 for three in 50 overs (Pooja 126 n.o., Bhawana 60, Richa 46) bt North Maharashtra, Jaigon 50 in 17 overs (Vinayashree four for two); Madras 330 for eight in 50 overs (Vijayalakshmi 94, Krithika 63) bt Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar, Agra 67 in 21.2 overs.
Thiruvalluvar 71 in 31.3 overs (Rathod Ramila five for 16) lost to Gujarat 72 for one in 14.2 overs; Jiwaji, Gwalior 104 in 34.1 overs (Priti Rotari 45, Anumika five for 13) lost to Ch. Devilal University Sisra 105 for one in 12.1 overs (Reena 47); Baracktullah Vishwa Vidhyalaya, Bhopal 190 in 42 overs (Neetu Jaiswal 99, Amithya Pandir four for 31) bt H.N.B. University Garhwal 149 in 34.5 overs (Palaksingh 58); B.R.Ambedkar University, Mwzzaffarpur 225 for nine in 50 overs (Reetika Kumari 42) bt Punjabi, Patiala 148 in 38 overs (Manvi 62 n.o.).
