KARAIKAL, DEC. 30. The affected people had a strange request to make to the Pondicherry Chief Minister, N. Rangasamy: do not give us cash now. "We will collect it later." "The people told me that they would collect the relief cheques later," he said. "They do not know where to keep the cheque safely since they have no place of their own. Most of them are staying in schools and marriage halls."
