BSNL launches new scheme

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, DEC. 30. BSNL has launched Plan 140, a new post-paid scheme for mobile customers of Kerala Circle.

Under this scheme, the monthly rental is Rs. 140 and the call charge Rs. 1.20 a minute for calls to mobile phones or landlines within the circle.

STD calls to mobile phones are charged at Rs. 2.00 a minute and STD calls to land lines Rs. 2.40 a minute irrespective of distance.

The SMS charges under this scheme are 60 paise a message within the circle and Re. 1 a message outside the circle. The scheme is valid up to February 28.

The BSNL has introduced five special schemes for New Year.

Under the first of these, no activation charges will be taken for the post-paid connection (Cellone) under any plan subscribed during the offer period January 1 to 31, 2005.

The landline and mobile connections disconnected for non-payment up to September 30, 2004 will be reconnected during the offer period without payment of the rental for the disconnected period under the second scheme.

Under the third scheme, the customers will get full talk value of Rs. 1,000 and Rs. 500 respectively on recharge coupons of Rs. 1,102 and Rs. 551 provided they activate these coupons during the offer period.

Free ITC cards worth Rs. 500 are provided to customers who book a new B-fone connection of BSNL during the offer period in those areas wherever connections are available on demand under the fourth scheme and the installation charges will be waived for all new land line (B-fone) connections booked during the offer period, under the fifth scheme.
