THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, DEC. 30. A special meeting of the State Cabinet on Thursday decided to constitute an expert committee to prepare a disaster management plan for the State. The committee, headed by the executive vice-president of the State Council for Science, Technology and Environment, A.E. Muthunayagam, will be asked to submit its report in two weeks. The members of the committee are K.T. Damodaran (Cochin University of Science and Technology), C.P. Rajendran (Centre for Earth Science Studies), K. G. Marar (Institute of Land Management), M. Baba (Centre for Earth Science Studies), E.J. James (Centre for Water Resources Development and Management), Jayakumar (Vizhinjam International Seaport) and S. Sundar (Indian Institute of Technology). The Director of the State Council, K.R.S. Krishnan, will be the convener of the committee.
