MANGALORE, DEC. 30. The district administration has asked fishermen not to venture into the sea until further orders. Tourists have been advised against going to the beaches. Revenue officials, the police, Home Guards and Fire Force personnel have been put on alert. The Deputy Commissioner, Arvind Shrivastav, in a press release has appealed to the people not to pay heed to rumours. Those who need any help with regard to tsunami can call 1077 (toll free), 2420519, 2420550, 2420140 (Deputy Commissioner's office); 2420187 (taluk office); 2441717, 100 (police control room); 9845095300 (Narayana Shetty, Revenue Inspector); 9845253464 (Radhakrishna, Revenue Inspector); 2466226 (Town Panchayat, Ullal) and 2290561 (Town Panchayat, Mulki).
Programmes cancelled
The district administration has cancelled all cultural programmes organised in connection with the Karavali Utsav. But Karavali Utsav exhibition at exhibition grounds near Lady Hill will go on till January 16.
