CHENNAI, DEC. 30. Gold jewellery weighing 30 sovereigns and Rs. 32,000 in cash were stolen from a house at Padikuppam under the Tirumangalam police limits on Wednesday. The resident, Vasantha, had gone out with her family. When she returned in the evening, she found the jewellery and the cash missing. The police said the thieves entered the house through a small window. A case has been registered with the Tirumangalam police. In a burglary reported from Mylapore, two pairs of ear studs, one of them with a diamond stone, was stolen from a house on South Kesavaperumal Koil Street when the residents were away.
