HYDERABAD, DEC. 30. Exhibitors from Iran and Pakistan, apart from various parts of the country, will set up stalls at the 65th All-India Industrial Exhibition starting from January 1, 2005. Over two lakh people are expected to visit the 45-day exhibition, which generates over Rs. 2 crores income to the Exhibition Society.
No hike in entrance fee
The Home Minister, K. Jana Reddy, who is also president of the society, told reporters on Thursday that there would be no hike in the entrance fee and it would remain Rs. 5 per person. The society also decided to do away with the "Only Ladies Day" due to poor response and also opposition from family members, who accompany them. He said the society had decided to earmark 10 stalls for the Association of Lady Entrepreneurs of Andhra Pradesh as part of the efforts to encourage women entrepreneurs. A host of events had been planned to make the affair more colourful, and these include competitions in painting, drawing, `rangoli', hand embroidery, `mehendi', fancy dress and sports for children. For the first time free local call facility would be provided with the help of Tata Indicom, which would set up 10 demo phones at different locations. Medical check-up would be provided at nominal charges.
