MADURAI, DEC.30. R. Ravikrishna Murthy, a resident of Vivekananda Road here, has urged the authorities to trace out his son who went missing in Velankanni on December 26. In a memorandum submitted to an official at the Collectorate today, Mr. Ravikrishna said his son Shanmugaraj alias Kani went to Velankanni along with his friends and their family members on a tour on December 24 in a van. Kani (32) went to the beach on December 25 to purchase fish and at this time tsunami lashed the coastal areas and since then Kani had not returned. Kani was the only breadwinner in his family and the Government should take immediate steps and trace him soon, he said.
