Fake toners seized, man held

NEW DELHI, DEC. 30. One person has been arrested by the South-West Delhi police for allegedly selling spurious photocopy toners.

According to the police, the Anti-Auto Theft Squad of the South-West Delhi police had received information that a person was selling spurious photocopy toner under the brand name "Xerox". Following investigations, a trap was laid at Sarojini Nagar Market and the accused, identified as Pramod Kumar, a resident of Daryaganj, was arrested on Wednesday. At his instance, the police a large number of bottles filled with spurious toners.

During interrogation, Pramod told the police that he used to buy waste toner liquid from various shopkeepers at Rs. 30 a kg and then mix about 25 per cent of original toners.

The police said accused was a post-graduate in political science from Uttar Pradesh. He had come to the Capital in search of a job and began indulging in the spurious trade to earn money. Further investigations in the case are on.
