Councillors to donate a month's salary

BANGALORE, DEC. 30. Members of the Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BMP) Council mourned the tsunami victims, at the council meeting on Thursday.

The council meeting, which was later adjourned, also mourned the former Prime Minister, P.V. Narasimha Rao, and the former chairman of the Standing Committee on Taxation and Finance in the BMP Council D.V. Satyanarayana. Members resolved to donate a month's salary towards relief measures for those affected by the tsunami. BMP employees will donate a day's salary.
