KOCHI, DEC. 30. Cochin Port Trust (CPT) suspended its cargo operations for an hour at noon today following an alert against another tsunami attack. Port officials said that no tidal change was observed. CPT has decided to donate Rs.1 crore to the Prime Minister's Relief Fund through the Ministry of Shipping, which in turn will contribute a total of Rs.32 crores collected from all major ports of the country. CPT chairman, Jacob Thomas, appealed to the employees to donate a day's wage to the relief fund. CPT has also set up a control room as part of its disaster management programme.
