THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, DEC. 30. An online lottery shop, `Goldenpot', located on the Sasthamangalam-Vellayambalam Road was a vandalised, allegedly by activists of DYFI, this evening. According to the proprietor of the shop, George P. Mathew, around 6 p.m., 25 men owing allegiance to DYFI came to the shop in the pretext of seeking relief for the tsunami victims. After accepting 10 kg of rice as contribution, the activists left the premise to return a couple of minutes later, he said. "Without any provocation they then started throwing the computer and furniture items inside the shop on to the road. They were shouting slogans against online lottery all the while," he said. According to Mathew, the loss has been estimated at Rs.4 lakhs. The Museum police have registered a case. The Kerala Vyapari Vyavasayi Ekopana Samithy has registered its protest against the incident. In a release, the Samithy general secretary, Y. Vijayan, has demanded immediate action to the prevent recurrence of such incidents.
