dated January 1, 1955: Talks on Kashmir

The Pakistan Prime Minister, Mr. Mohammed Ali, announced in Singapore on December 31 that he would hold fresh talks with his Indian counterpart, Mr. Nehru, on the Kashmir dispute in the first week of March. He told a press conference that the meeting would probably be at Karachi. "I have always been hopeful about this problem. Both the countries are suffering from it and I think the time for settlement has more than come," said Mr. Mohammed Ali.
