Veteran actor and Union Sports Minister Sunil Dutt appears before the sessions court in Mumbai on Friday regarding a 20- year- old case. PTI
MUMBAI, DEC. 31. The Union Sports Minister, Sunil Dutt, today appeared before a local court to tender evidence in a two-decade- old case involving a person who was charged with attempting to murder the actor-turned politician. Mr. Dutt said he recalled the incident and also narrated it before the Sessions judge, S. P. Nikam, but failed to recognise the accused Omkar Singh in the court room. He said that he could not recall the face as the incident took place 20 years ago and that he had seen the person for only few minutes then. Mr. Dutt had registered an FIR with the Khar police on July 12, 1984, saying that Singh had tried to kill him after the actor had stopped him for rash driving.
