By Our Staff Correspondent UDUPI, DEC. 31. The Paryaya Admar Mutt will organise a one-month cultural programme, "Chinnara Masa'', from Saturday. Students of schools covered by the "Chinnara Santharpane'' scheme of the mutt will take part in the programme. According to a press release issued by the mutt here, "Chinnara Santharpane'' is a mid-day meal scheme being taken up by the mutt for 25,000 children in 119 aided schools in rural and semi-urban areas of the district.
Break-up
The break-up is 15,492 students from 73 aided schools of Udupi taluk, 5,988 students in 26 aided schools of Kundapur taluk and 3,560 students in 19 aided schools of Karkala taluk.
Cultural programmes
The cultural programmes under the "Chinnara Masa'' include Bharatanatyam, folk dance, folk songs, patriotic songs, Talamaddale, Yakshagana, classical music, devotional songs and dramas. These programmes will be in the form of competitions with a view to encourage schools and students to contribute their best. The Union Minister of State for Programme Implementation and Statistics, Oscar Fernandes, will be the chief guest. Vidyadheesha Tirtha Swamiji of Paryaya Admar Mutt will preside over the function.
