Mainly clear sky

The weather forecast for Saturday is a mainly clear sky with the minimum temperature expected to be around 15 degrees Celsius. The maximum and minimum temperatures recorded on Friday were 30 degrees Celsius and 14.5 degree Celsius while the relative humidity was pegged at 37 per cent.

Playlet contest

Paruchuri Raghubabu Memorial Trust has invited entries for participation in the theatre play and playlet contest to be held at the Ravindra Bharati from April 27 to May 1, 2005. The last date for receiving the entries is Feb.10 and primary screening will be done from Feb.25 to March 15.

Entry fees for plays and playlets are Rs. 150 and Rs. 200 respectively. Entries have to be sent to the Treasurer of the Trust, 12-2-823/A60, Santoshnagar Colony, Mehidipatnam, Hyderabad - 28.

Lok Adalat

The next Lok Adalat of the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board will be held on Saturday at the conference hall on the premises of the Board office in Khairatabad from 10.30 a.m. to resolve pre-litigation and litigation cases.

Book fair

The Hyderbad Book Fair Trust has said that the 19th Hyderabad Book Fair will be held at the Nizam College Grounds from Feb.3 to 13 with over 300 leading publishers, booksellers and allied traders expected to participate. Cultural and literary programmes will be conducted during the fair. Interested parties can contact on phones: 55545592 & 9849510644, a press release said.

Elected

Justice Raghavendra A. Jagirdar has been unanimously elected president of the Federation of Atheist and Rationalist Associations. N. Innaiah is new general secretary. The general secretary will function from Hyderabad and the president from Mumbai.

ATMs opened

Canara Bank opened two ATMs on Friday at Asifnagar and Saidabad Colony on the local branch premises. They were opened by the bank's general manager, S. Jayaraman. With this, the bank's ATMS in the city has gone up to 21.

Religious

procession

To mark the 300 years of Shaheedi Purab, the Prabhandak Committee Gurudwara Sri Akalsar Saheb, Vanasthalipuram, is organising a religious procession on Saturday and a mass congregation at HUDA auditorium, Vanasthalipuram, on Sunday. Over 15,000 devotees were expected to participate in the procession, according to a press release.
