India, Pakistan exchange lists of nuclear installations
By Our Diplomatic Correspondent
NEW DELHI,
JAN. 1.
For the 14th year running, India and Pakistan today exchanged lists of their nuclear installations and facilities covered under the Agreement on the Prohibition of Attack Against Nuclear Installations and Facilities between India and Pakistan, which came into force on January 27, 1991.
A statement from the Ministry of External Affairs this evening said that these lists were exchanged through diplomatic channels, simultaneously in New Delhi and Islamabad.
"Under the Agreement, the two countries are to inform each other on January 1 of every calendar year of the nuclear installations and facilities to be covered by the Agreement. The first such exchange of lists took place on January 1, 1992," the statement added.
