KARAIKUDI, JAN. 1. Suman Patel's five for 18 helped LNIPE Gwalior defeat Dr. B.S.A. University, Marathwada by six wickets in the All India inter-University women's cricket tournament here on Saturday.

Dr. B.S.A. University, Marathwada 90 in 25.2 overs (Suman Patel five for 18) lost to LNIPE, Gwalior 93 for four in 21.1 overs; B.R.A.U. Muzzaffarpur 91 in 30.1 overs (Joshi Urmila four for 19) lost to Gujarat University 92 for one in 23.1 overs (Priksha 42 n.o.); M.D. University, Rohtak 91 in 40.4 overs lost to Vinoba Bhave, Hazaribagh 92 for no loss in 17.2 overs.

Sourashtra University 87 in 38.5 overs (Dave Sweta 47 n.o.) lost to Madras University 90 for two in 16 overs (Aarthi Sankaran 58 n.o.); Punjab University, Chandigarh 206 for five in 50 overs (Anju 42, Proja 47) bt Shivaji, Kolhapur 175 in 42 overs (Angha Deshpande 97); Pune University 190 in 39.5 overs (Snehal Pradhan 85, V.C. Anu Ashok four for 37) bt Calicut 159 in 42.2 overs.
