Isolated rain likely in T.N.

CHENNAI, JAN. 1. Isolated rainfall occurred over south Tamil Nadu and Kerala. Mainly dry weather prevailed over Lakshadweep and dry weather prevailed over north Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka.

Ayikudi (Tirunelveli dt.) and Tirumangalam (Madurai dt.) recorded rainfall of 1 cm each.

The minimum temperature rose markedly at one or two places over Rayalaseema, rose appreciably at a few places over north coastal Andhra Pradesh, at one or two places over Telangana, rose at a few places over south interior Karnataka, at one or two places over rest Rayalaseema, north interior Tamil Nadu, fell at one or two places over coastal and north interior Karnataka and changed a little elsewhere over the region.

They were appreciably above normal at a few places over interior Tamil Nadu, at one or two places over north Kerala, south interior Karnataka, Rayalaseema, north coastal Andhra Pradesh, above normal at a few places over Telangana, south Kerala, at one or two places over coastal and north interior Karnataka, rest north coastal Andhra Pradesh, below normal at one or two places over rest coastal Karnataka and were generally normal over the rest of the region.

FORECAST (valid until Monday morning): Isolated rain is likely to occur over Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry, Kerala and Lakshadweep and mainly dry weather will prevail over Andhra Pradesha and Karnataka.
