PALAKKAD, JAN. 1. The Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) here has offered a special package for the New Year season from January 1 to 31. Free IT cards totalling Rs. 500 will be offered to those who have booked for new connections under Palakkad, Kalpathy, CTO, Yakkara, Chandranagar, Melamuri and Kallepully telephone exchanges. No installation charge will be levied on those who have registered for new connections during this period in these exchanges. The BSNL authorities said a new plan for post-paid connections under mobile services called Plan-140 would be introduced up to February 28. No activation charge would be charged for post-paid connections under any plan in January this year. Full talk value of Rs. 1,000 and Rs. 500 respectively would be given for pre-paid recharge coupons of Rs. 1,102 and Rs. 551, provided these coupons are activated during the offer period. Landline and mobile connections disconnected for non-plan up to September 30, 2004, could be reconnected without payment of rental for the disconnected period. This scheme is valid up to January 31, 2005, the BSNL Assistant General Manager (PR) said.
