CHENNAI, JAN. 1 . The Rural Industries Minister, B. Valarmathi, today distributed relief materials to 1004 families affected by the killer waves in the coastal villages of Ennore, near here. The relief package contained Rs.4,000 in cash, a dhoti, a sari, two blankets, three litres of kerosene and 60 kg rice. The beneficiaries were from Chinnakuppam, Ennorekuppam, Ennaumohathuvara Kuppam, Annai Sivakami Nagar and Thalankuppam. Enumeration work also began for distributing relief of Rs. 3000 to victims. Earlier at Ponneri, 1,579 victims from Pulicat kuppam were issued the relief amounts of Rs. 4,000 each. The Government Whip, P.M Narasimhan, the Tamil Nadu Tourism Development Corporation Chairman, Adhi Rajaram, and MLAs, T. Arumugam and K. Sudarsanam, the Zonal Relief Coordinator, O.P. Sosamma, and the Thiruvallur Collector, Kumar Jayant, were present.
