This Day That Age
The first suburban train in the country's capital ran on January 1. In spite of the biting cold, hundreds of people gathered early in the morning at the six stations on the route and on verandahs and balconies of wayside houses and watched the train make its nine-mile trip in about half an hour. The maximum fare on the route is four annas and the minimum one anna.
