False alarm

Sir, — This refers to the report "Missive triggers panic waves" (Dec. 31). It is amazing that a false alarm was raised when the Science and Technology Ministry "merely passed on the message to the Union Home Ministry."

The S &T Ministry, by its own admission, seems to have acted like a post office. The Home Ministry only erred on the side of caution.
